Billy apologizes to the fallen tree and says he has to cut it down because he doesn't really want to cut the tree down, but he needs to finish the goal he made with his two dogs, which is to catch a coon together. The coon they want to catch is on the top of that tree, so he has to cut it down. Billy doesn't really want to cut that tree because it is so tiring to cut a tree.
